April 19 - Bike Maryland Bike-MINDED Safety Program Adult Commuter Workshop

Join the Bike-MINDED Safety Program Coordinators for an informational workshop on adult bicycle commuter safety followed by a fun ride out of Joe's Bike Shop in Mt. Washington, Baltimore.

April 28 - Amtrak and the Susquehanna Public Outreach Session

There is a public information gathering session about the Amtrak, Maryland DOT Railroad Bridge across the Susquehanna River between Havre de Grace and Perryville.  Come out and voice your opinion about the need for a bike and pedestrian bridge across the river with the rail bridge.

May 1 - Walkable Bikeable Delaware Bike summit

The summit will bring together Robert Burchfield, the City Traffic Engineer for the Portland Bureau of Transportation; Tracy Winfree, the Director of Public Works for the City of Boulder, Colorado; and Delaware elected officials, engineers, planners, cyclists, public health professionals and greenway and trail advocates. Portland and Boulder are two of only four “platinum”-ranked “bicycle-friendly” communities in the United States. Burchfield and Winfree will explain the steps their communities took to make cycling a mainstream and family-friendly part of the transportation systems of Portland and Boulder.

May 7 - Rockille Bike Advisory Committee Meeting

Are you a bike enthusiast? Are you interested in the bikeways in Rockville? Would you like to see more trails or bike lanes? Would you like to make a difference on how the bikeways are maintained? Then join Rockville’s Bike Advisory Committee! 

Time and Location: 7:00 PM at City Hall, usually in the Diamondback Terrapin Conference Room.

May 13 - Action Committee for Transit of Montgomery County Meeting

The Action Committee for Transit has a vision of a Montgomery County where it is easier to travel and more pleasant to live. Goals of this group include: connecting our communities with a network of rail lines, redesigning our streets to make it easier and safer to walk and to ride a bike and to create the kind of neighborhoods we want to live in. DC's Georgia Ave. corridor streetcar - could it connect to Silver Spring?Speaker from D.C. Dept. of Transportation

May 16 - Bike to Work Day

Bike to Work Day 2014, sponsored by the Baltimore Metropolitan Council, will be celebrated in the region and across the nation on Friday May 16, 2014. This year marks the 17th annual event in this area!

May 18 - Bike Maryland Spring Bicycle Tour: The RecRide

Join us for our first ride of the year, the RecRide: a premier spring bicycle tour with a choice of 12 or 30 mile routes that are open to all age and experience levels. The events culminate in a huge celebration in Patterson Park with a FREE CAKE PARTY for all RecRide registrants! Guests can also watch as BikeJam 2014 plays host to Pro Bicycle Championship races all afternoon long. The celebration includes live music, craft beer, food trucks, exhibitors and more!

May 21 - Bike Maryland FREE Bike Friendly Buisness Workshop in Rockville

The Rockville Bike Friendly Business FREE workshop will be a joint initiative with the Rockville Chamber of Commerce, the City of Rockville, and JGB Properties that is titled "Rockville's Green Business Initiatives". Learn about becoming bike friendly with some emphasis on Green Building Initiatives that are available through the City of Rockville. Business owners and property owners are the "target market" for this workshop, but ALL are encouraged and welcome to attend and learn the process of becoming bicycle friendly! A complimentary breakfast will be provided by JGB Properties and the Chamber of Commerce.

September 14 - Bike Maryland's Beautiful Beast - Larry's Ride

After the success of Larry's Ride in 2013, Bike Maryland is happy to announce we will be hosting this challenging ride once again at Camp Milldale in Reisterstown, Baltimore County. Bicyclists will have the choice between 3 challenging routes ranging from approximately 20-75 miles and are invited to join us back at the registration/ start line for music, lunch, socializing and more!

Registration to open in June 2014. Be sure to mark your calendar and register early to get the early bird rate!


September 21 - Bike Maryland's 21st Annual Tour du Port

Baltimore City's premier bicycle tour where riders travel through charming neighborhoods, historic port areas and beautiful parks throughout Baltimore City and Baltimore County on five different bicycle routes ranging from 15 - 65 miles. All ages and experience levels came out to enjoy the beautiful scenery and celebrate improvements for conditions in bicycling! After the ride the celebration with live music, exhibitors, free lunch, Thai massages, yoga for bicyclists and more was a great sucess!
